Bit Stirrer

I happen to like Google Chrome... quite a lot!!  In fact browsers that are not multi-threaded (ie all other browsers) crap me off from a software engineering standpoint!! (Mutlithreading is not just about taking advantage of multiple CPUs / cores, but more importantly, about UI / tab functionality not hanging on Windows' moronaic network (especially DNS) code!!!).

Anyway, one thing that really annoys me about Google Chrome is the name!!  I mean, the term "chrome" is already used extensively by FireFox as an important term in their UI framework... so just try searching for javascript bugs on either browser, and you get swamped with results for the other browser too!!  Not only is this extremely annoying, but shows a complete lack of forsight on Google's part - at least in the product-naming division.

Anyway... and now, to add more annoyance, S3 has launched a graphics accellerator / chipset / whatever "chrome" too... urrgghh... is no-one thinking?  Or is "chrome" some hot IT buzz-word now?
