Blake S.'s blogSweet passive HTPC :)I just saw this totally sweet-looking HTPC on this blog post at a site call PC Thoughts... the thing that makes this HTPC look really sweet to me, is that it is (or at least aims to be) totally passive... that's 100% no fans, or any other moving parts (except for a DVD drive I 'spose). And it's not just one of those really low-power Atom / Crusoe / mobile processors either - its a full-blown dual-core Athlon 64!! :)
Tackback Testdon't look here... I'm just testing trackbacks! ;)
Oh, how I love Debian!!In the past two days I've rebuilt one of my work servers as a Debian box (it was previously running Fedora Core)... and I'm just reminded yet again, that Debian is my favorite Linux distro - it thinks like me - it has a purist approach to all things, and is oh so much faster at most admin tasks than Fedora.
Too many chromes!I happen to like Google Chrome... quite a lot!! In fact browsers that are not multi-threaded (ie all other browsers) crap me off from a software engineering standpoint!! (Mutlithreading is not just about taking advantage of multiple CPUs / cores, but more importantly, about UI / tab functionality not hanging on Windows' moronaic network (especially DNS) code!!!).
Stupid HollywoodMan!! When is Hollywood gunna get this right?! I just watched yet another movie in which someone gets shot, and was clearly wearing a bullet-proof vest... but just so that the audience is sure, the shootee promptly removed the vest for all to see!! I mean, c'mon!! Everyone knows that only a complete idiot would remove the bullet-proof vest before the final resolution!! Seriously!? How dumb does Hollywood think we are?!
WD TV - good, but lackingThis week Western Digital launched their new WD TV HD Media Player - and I was excited to see it. It look, at first, to be a brilliant device - well worthy of replacing my now-decrepit TViX. However, upon closer investigation, it seems that the WD TV is seriously lacking in two ways:
Great Coffee: Café IvesI like coffee... a lot! Café Ives is shop 248, located on the ground floor - H5 on the Chadstone map. (And no, I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just like to report good (and bad) coffee when I come accross it).
